Daikanyamacho is a stylish, Brooklynlike quarter of brewpubs, coffee roasters, and gourmet delis. The shopping scene trends toward designer fashion and luxury accessories, with bookstores that double as galleries and cocktail bars. Unlike other high-end high fashion parts of Tokyo such as Ginza, this quite hideaway is a place to relax and slow down.

Daikanyama T-Site
Spread across three interlinked buildings at the architecturally impressive T-Site, Tsutaya Books is much more than just a book store.
Aside from a staggering collection of books, magazines and gifts or browsing the latest DVDs and designer goods where you can lose yourself for hours on end, there’s also a Starbucks coffee branch and a Family Mart within the complex.Whether it’s curling up with a vintage magazine and cocktail in the upstairs Anjin lounge, there’s something here for everyone.
Spring Valley Brewery Tokyo
Spring Valley Brewery is one of Daikanyama’s and Tokyos new craft breweries. Although craft breweries are new to Japan, they are growing in number and popularity.
Set into a lofty former warehouse, a size rarely encountered in snugly fit Tokyo, this brewery is popular with both locals and visitors to the city. It may be owned by beer behemoth Kirin but Spring Valley Brewery offers beers of the craft variety. They are brewed on-site, visible behind enormous glass panels. So if you’re missing a good pint, this is the place to go.
L’Officine
French cosmetics company L’Officine Universelle Buly specialises in skincare and fragrances based on the philosophy of using traditional methods and natural ingredients to make their products. When it comes to beauty products, L’Officine is second to none.
Of all the places in the city, the design of this shop is beyond compare. It’s a clash between old and new worlds, modern and traditional. If you’re not interested in purchasing high-end skincare, you should diffidently go for the photo op.
Duct Coffee Lab
Designed as a laboratory of coffee, this fashionable cafe features antique lights and brass features that give it an industrial feel. It’s an ideal place to grab a drink or bite to eat while catching up on work, with plenty of plug outlets where you can charge your phone or laptop while taking advantage of the complimentary Wi-Fi.
The Duct Coffee Lab has become incredibly popular with tourists and expats thanks to its calming atmosphere and outstanding coffee. If you’re visiting during the summer months, opt for their refreshing Iced Cafe Latte that’s rich in flavor and creamy in texture.
